Meetings

The Town of Telluride has a variety of commissions and committees that are working constantly to serve you better. Below is a list of all recent meetings that you can review. Click on the meeting name to review the details of that meeting. Once this page opens you will also be able to review details from other meetings of the same type.

Regular Council meetings are held every three weeks. Meetings are held on the Zoom platform until further notice. Details on how to join the meeting can be found at the top of each meeting agenda. Meetings typically start at 10:00 am and are live-streamed on KOTO radio and You Tube.

 

2024 Goals and Objectives

Recommends annual funding allocations to the Town Council for community support organizations, arts organizations, and special events and administers Town policy for special events, including the establishment of the special events policies and yearly special events calendar and consideration of applications for street closures and banners. Usually meets the first Wednesday of the month at noon.

The Historic and Architectural Review Commission is directed to issue Certificates of Appropriateness prior to the issuance of permits pertaining to the erection, demolition, moving, renovation, restoration, addition to, or alteration of any structure or sign.

 

It also recommends designation of structures, significant landmark interiors and areas of outstanding historic and architectural significance; proposes preservation standard and policies, and maintains inventories of historically and/or architecturally significant structures and areas.

The Town of Telluride Historic and Architectural Review Commission (HARC) meeting schedule is set at the end of the year for the next calendar year. The meetings are live streamed on YouTube.

Members

The Planning and Zoning Commission has the authority to grant approvals concerning uses permitted on review, zoning variances, conceptual, preliminary and final planned unit developments, preliminary and final subdivisions.

 

It is directed to initiate amendments to the Land Use Code for Town Council review. It is also directed to make, adopt, and recommend Master Plans to the Town Council.

The Town of Telluride Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) meeting schedule is set at the end of the year for the next calendar year. The meetings are live streamed on You Tube.

Members
The Open Space Commission establishes priorities and criteria for Town Council adoption for the acquisition of open space and for the management and maintenance of all properties acquired and is directed to review open space elements of comprehensive, master and area plans and make recommendations to Town  Council concerning any open-space-related changes to plans. This commission usually meets the first Monday of the month, from 4 - 6 pm.
Members

The Ecology Commission shall address human-wildlife interactions of concern, as identified by the Town Council. Such work shall address mechanisms that reduce or eliminate interactions which may pose a threat to wildlife and the safety of the general public.

  • The Town of Telluride Ecology Commission usually meets the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00 pm at Rebekah Hall.
Members

The Telluride Liquor Licensing Authority and the Colorado Department of Revenue must both approve any application for a liquor license, or any change to a liquor license. Neither entity may issue a license without the consent of the other.

 

In Telluride, a hearing officer acts as the local liquor licensing authority for all liquor matters except new licenses. New licenses and appeals are heard by the Town Council for approval or denial.

It is the duty of the Parks and Recreation Commission to interpret the needs and desires of the community for recreation and parks services. Usually meets the third Wednesday of the month at noon.

 

Members

The SMART, San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation, the ballot initiative to create a regional transportation authority, was passed by regional voters on November 8, 2016. SMART service can include bus service, shuttles, trails (for commuting), roads, and related transit infrastructure, such as park-and-ride parking lots.

The Telluride Combined Retail and Medical Marijuana Licensing Authority and the Colorado Department of Revenue Marijuana Enforcement Division must both approve any application for a Retail or Medical Marijuana Center, Optional Premises Cultivation License or Marijuana Infused Products Manufacturing License.

Telluride Regional Airport Authority

TRAA's Board of Commissioners is comprised of nine voting members, representing the county and municipalities which combined to create the Telluride Regional Airport Authority.

 

Bylaws and Rules of Procedures

Members

The Public Art Commission will be charged with reviewing and approving or denying applications for public art in Town rights-of-way. This Commission meets on an as needed basis.

Board of Adjustment and Appeals

The Board of Adjustment and Appeals hears appeals resulting from interpretations, determinations or actions of the Building Official or other authorized official taken pursuant to the ordinances, codes and regulations as contained in this Chapter; excepting appeals regarding the enforcement or interpretation of the Fire Code which shall be heard by the Telluride Fire Protection District.

Ethics Commission

The Ethics Commission has the authority to issue advisory opinions, provide interpretations of the ethics code, investigate violations of the ethics code and recommend to Town Council the imposition of sanctions, remedies and/or criminal enforcement of civil action regarding violations.

Vending Application

 

The Vending Subcommittee of Town Council reviews vending permit applications.
